I know this is a little late but I absolutely have to fill you all in on Emma’s first Easter! I mean it would be ridiculously selfish of me not to share these pretty little Emma pictures! As you can see she loved her frilly, girly, and oh so dainty Easter dress, which was sent just for her all the way from Illinois, thank you Great Grandma Sutter!
We had a great time making memories with our little girl on her first Easter weekend! Here are some pictures of our Easter weekend (along with some short narratives from me to go along with the pics)……
First, we went to the Good Friday service at church Friday night. Then we dyed some Easter eggs on Saturday. Emma was actually much more interested in either throwing or eating the eggs, but we eventually got around to dying all the eggs!
Once the eggs were all set, I got to changing our table centerpiece for Easter morning! I just put Eric and Emma’s Easter baskets (actually Eric’s was a gift bag and Emma’s was a little tulip bag) all pretty in the center of our table to get us set for a fun, festive Easter morning!
While I got the table all set, Eric got our Easter morning playlist ready to go on his ipod…this includes “Was It a Morning Like This? (by the good ol’ Sandi Patty) and “Easter Song” (by Keith Green). Good old school songs that we grew up listening to on Easter and we have now decided to continue that tradition with our little family on Easter morning!
Then of course, I got us all color-coordinating outfits to wear to church on Easter morning. I just can’t resist….one of those things my mom always did for us on Easter, which she has totally passed on to me now!
We had a great time celebrating Christ’s victory over death with fellow believers at our church on Sunday morning! I always love that ultimate conquered celebration feeling at church on Easter morning, don’t you?! I mean after all it is the most important thing to celebrate, right? Changed my life completely, forever!
Then we had so much fun getting together with Eric’s side of the family for the afternoon!
And by the end of Easter Sunday we had a very tired little baby girl, all sweet and snuggly in her little pink bunny pajamas. The pajamas say “Some Bunny’s Sleepy”….the perfect end to a fantastic first Easter weekend for our little Emma!
We look forward to the Easter weekends to come as we can explain more and more to her about the real significance of Easter! Hope you all had great Easters as well!
